Instructions about re-issuance of Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card- regarding.
1. The present prohibition on integration air travel by the Government still continues barring Vande Bharat Mission (VBM) flights & air bubble arrangements and therefore suspension of OCI card as lifelong visa for travel to/from India also continues in many cases.
- In view thereof and with a view to avoid inconvenience to OCI cardholders who are required to get their OCI cards re-issued (OCI cardholder registration is required to be got re-issued each time a new passport is issued up to the age of 20 years of age and once after completing 50 years of age in view of biological changes in the face of the applicant), it has been decided, with the approval of the competent authority, to grant extension of time till 30.06.2021 to all eligible foreigners to get their OCI cards re-issued.
- It has also been decided that, subject MHA’ extant guidelines regarding entry of OCI cardholders in India, such cardholders will be allowed to travel on the strength of their existing OCI card bearing old passport number subject to the condition that the OCI cardholder will have to travel along with both old and new passports.
