Under the initiative of Ministry of External Affairs of India, the 2nd Pravasi Bharatiya Express will be launched in the month of October and November 2025 from New Delhi. It is a special state-of-the-art Tourist Train exclusively designed for the Indian Diaspora (PIOs only) that will cover multiple destinations of prominent touristic interest and religious importance all over India for a period of 3 weeks starting from October 21 to November 08, 2025. The Pravasi Bharatiya Express will travel to Ayodhya, Patna, Gaya, Varanasi, Mahabalipuram, Rameshwaram, Madurai, Kochi, Goa, Ekta Nagar (Kevadia), Ajmer, Pushkar and Agra. The train would have a maximum capacity for 150 passengers. The special conducted tour is being organised under the Pravasi Teerth Darshan Yojana (PTDY) scheme of the Ministry of External Affairs in collaboration with the M/s Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). The purpose of the aforesaid tour is to connect the Indian Diaspora (PIOs only in the age group of 45-65 years) to their roots and promote inbound tourism to India.
However, unlike the first edition of the Pravasi Bharatiya Express, the 2nd edition of the Pravasi Bharatiya Express would be undertaken on a self-financing basis by the PIOs wishing to avail the services. Ministry has negotiated a particularly attractive rate of INR 1,92,345 + GST per person with IRCTC for the aforesaid tour. This is an all-inclusive package with several alluring facilities contained in it. We are confident that several PIO Members would be interested in availing this offer and, like in the past, an overwhelming number of over 150 of them would express their interest to avail this offer of conducting the 2nd edition of the Pravasi Bharatiya Express on a self-financing basis.
Interested PIOs may contact the Embassy of India, Ouagadougou on or before May 20, 2025.
